>Suppose you build a database DBC on one PC and then later need to move it to another PC on a different hard drive and its tables may also be placed in different folders relative to the DBC. This creates major problems for the DBC because it can't find its tables, etc. What is the best technique to manage this (other than set it up right to begin with?

Perhaps, if you haven't done so from the beginning, you can reorganize and move all the tables into the same folder? I think that would require some investment for reorganizing, but that that would pay of in maintenance ease.
Sure, I know that that isn't what you asked.
I certainly hope you make full use of databases eventually, because of its many advantages (long field names, referential integrity, field descriptions, etc.).
The main problem I encountered with databases is that there are additional complications when moving tables to another location.
