I thought that Microsoft was getting wiser and more helpful in its user interfaces and dialogues.
I like the IE7 tabs and use them.
However, every time I exit IE7 I get a dialog asking me if I want to re-open the same tabs at next startup.
The dialog also has an option to "Don't show me this dialogue again". WHAT'S THAT ABOUT?...
I never tick that option in any dialog because I never know how to get it back again if I end up needing it again.
Why should I assume that if I have ticked the 'Open the same tabs next time', that it will become the default??? How would I get the dialog back again if I needed it?

Now the thing that finally prompted me to write about this 'better' interface...
I started up IE7 and it appeared to open all my old tabs as they were set before. Then I logged into UT. The screen stayed blank for a few minutes, and mousing in the area showed the hourglass and a click brought the good ol "Not responding" addition to the window title bar.
So I red-Xed out and got a message that it was not responding so did I want to 'end now'. I clicked that I did and it went away, offering me the option to send an error report to MS (which I did).
Now the kicker - when I restarted it, the damned thing had LOST MY PRIOR TABS. Well, at least it decided to make it look like it had lost them.
That is a better interface with the user???? Now I have to go and re-do all my tabs WHEN EVERY TIME I WAS ABLE TO I TOLD THE STUPID THING TO RE-OPEN THE SAME TABS NEXT TIME!$@#!$@#@%!$@#

I like the tabs, but I think Microsoft still has a long way to go before they interface friendlily with the user. It's like MS was pressured to get the thing out and so delivered it before taking care of it as a whole.
Doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence about Vista either.

cheers
