I reject your bluster for a very simple reason: you have reprimanded others for apparently not accurately answering the question posed by this particular OP. Now suddenly you want to avoid his situation to answer in generic terms by calling in buddies who support your POV, as if that is something to be feared. Why should I fear people who disagree with me? I'm very willing to be educated by smart people who share my respect for scientific method.

I assume you know that there are just as many experts who do NOT agree that SP is always best (try googling "stored procedures bad") and that science and the universe is on the side of those *opposing* fixed positions.

Lets be clear: I am not saying SP are no good. I'm saying that 900 SP is a daunting prospect for somebody grappling with dotNET and wanting advice on datasets.

Perhaps you should look at various old discussions on the wiki between me and JVP dating back to 2000 on this topic.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
