Thanks Fabio. This works.

I would like to add these two things that are worth noting.
1. If the data had been 'updated' previously in VFP8; it would have the padded spaces already in Oracle.
2. There is still a limit of 254 characters on this field. Otherwise, Oracle data is translated to Memo.

Also, it is an environment setting only - uses the third param of 0. It's one way or the other which, IHMO, is a good idea.
