Ledeen sounds like a flipflopper. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/11/5/4464/23607

If the VanityFair author did promise not to publish before the election, then thats low. But these guys in their NRO rebuttal claim its political that it ran now. But i would also consider it "political" if they held a story claiming administration incompetence until after the election.

>Editor's Note: On Friday, Vanity Fair issued a press release highlighting excerpts of a piece in their January issue on “neoconservative” supporters of the war in Iraq who today, unsurprisingly, have some negative things to say about how the war is going and how the Bush administration has been handling it.

>In the wake of the press release – which has gotten considerable play on the Internet – some of those “neoconservatives” highlighted in the article have responded to the excerpts and its misrepresentations, in some cases, of what they said. We collect some of those reactions — including from Eliot Cohen, David Frum, Frank Gaffney, Michael Ledeen, Richard Perle, and Michael Rubin

>>I didn't read today's article, but Perle is upset the article was published before the election. Poor guy.
>>
>>>These are the kingpins of the Neocon movement and architects of the Iraq invasion.
>>>
>>>From VanityFair: "As Iraq slips further into chaos, the war's neoconservative boosters have turned sharply on the Bush administration, charging that their grand designs have been undermined by White House incompetence. In a series of exclusive interviews, Richard Perle, Kenneth Adelman, David Frum, and others play the blame game with shocking frankness. Target No. 1: the president himself."
