>>You are about to be disappointed in me. I didn't vote today.
>
>Disappointed that you didn't take care of registering before the election. I realized this morning that I've now been voting for 30 years--every primary, every general election. Doesn't seem that long.
>
>>It probably doesn't matter that I didn't vote. My vote here means squat. We have discussed this before. Lake County is solidly Republican. Not wing nuts, thank goodness, but focused on wallets, "traditional values", and the status quo.
>
>Well, when I moved into this township 28 year ago, you couldn't get elected to anything unless you were a Republican. I knew people who changed their registration to run for school board. Now there hasn't been a Republican on the school board for getting close to a decade, we've had a Dem as state rep for about as long, and a Dem as state senator for a while. They've actually gerrymandered us out of the US House district we should be in to put us in with a Philly district, but the seat we used to vote for is held by a Dem who's in no danger today. More astonishingly, several of the other suburban seats around here, which has been Republican since forever, may go to Democrats today, and PA is expected to send its first Democrat to the Senate in 40 years.

>My point. Things change. Get yourself registered where you live before next year's primary.
>

We're all busy, Tamar. Please don't be preachy.

I really, really hope Santorum loses. That is one of the races around the country I will be watching closely.
