The worse part about all this, is that this all revolves around Congress policing themselves, which history says they do a very poor job of.

Congress troted out the bill they passed after K St. was blown up. But it was very lame. Both dems and repubs praised the new bill, but it had more holes then swiss cheese.

I don't know how you fix it, other then throwing out all the bad eggs.

They profiled a guy on 60 minutes who's consistently voting against earmarks. And consistently getting shouted down. We need to find more guys/gals like him and throw our full support behind them.

>The most famous is certainly Karl Rove's use of it, but he did not create it and it is not limited to Republicans. I received a very deceptive push-poll the other night on behalf of the Democratic party - really _issed me off because in the beginning I was under the impression it was an honest poll. Towards the middle it became evident that the questions were both leading and misleading in order to sway opinion.

>>Push poll is where a poll you are participating has leading questions. It's an art perfected by karl rove. He started doing this back in Tx. to help get geogie the governorship. He send out pollsters to ask voters if they would still be likely to vote for Ann Richards if she admited she was lesbian.
>>
>>Today voters are being asked, "Would you be likely to vote for [insert dem candidate name] if you new his policies would make it easier for terrorists to attack the USA".
>>
>>This plants the negative idea in people's minds. Getting many to have that thought in the back of their mind when they vote.
>>
>>>>>2) Repub robo calls using push polling - they had an article in the LA paper last week with a profile of a guy who runs a robo calling center. He was proud of the number of calls he could perform per hour. He's a former Reagan appointee. Now employeed by the repubs to perform one of their Rove's favorite tactics. Push calling. Trying to put bad perceptions of dems in voters minds.
>>>>
>>>>Yeah, my son in Maryland said he got a push poll.
>>>
>>>He got a what? LOL
>>>
>>>Serious question, bearing in mind that my daughters are approaching college age faster than I can believe. How much do you know, how much do you wonder, and how much do you think everyone is happier that you don't know?

(On an infant's shirt): Already smarter than Bush
