>yes you may:) the physical drive is 30gb but only 5 is for the program files and os, nothing else is installed on c, now only xp and a couple of small programs. i did a custom install and removed sql express which even though i have specified d will only install on c, i also removed crystal, v# and c++. it will install now and leave me with a nice 270mb on c:) i am having a look at partition tools now that can recombine c and d.

You might think of a different schema with partitions for OS, programs and data separated.
Easier for imaging tools to backup and much easier for adding/testing multiboot environments.

my C: is 512 MB Fat 16 only used for boot loaders, and as "scratch".
And yes, I know the vista will take a step back and on its own reassign drive letters.
