I have been playing with .net on a mobile device over the last couple of days. i installed vs2005 on a pc here in the office after much clearing out of files and that runs ok. I created a new application for a mobile device that is a form with a calendar on it and it deploys onto the device and runs with no problems. i now want to put a grid with a db back end on it. i add in a grid on the form and try to setup the datasource as a sql server ce edition db using create new. when i try this i get the following error
"microsoft SQL server 2005 mobile edition and/or microsoft .NET V2.0 is not properly installed or your mobile device is not responding"
.net is installed as my simple app works, the device is reponding as i can deploy the simple app to it. i have tried installing sql ce but the help says that it is installed when the app is deployed.
i am really stuck here can anyone point me in the right direction to install sql ce or get it deployed on the mobile device.
