Well, Enrique, if you don't mind a suggestion from a girl, I have one if you're just getting started with programming views.
It sounds like your view surpasses the designer's capability. But that doesn't mean you can't use it to make a simplified version. Then you could run GENDBC or GENDBCX (from
www.stevearnott.com) on the DBC to see what's necessary for setting key fields and updateable fields. From there it's just (!) a matter of refining your sql-select statement.
