You already received advices how to manage bulky view programmatically. However, there is one more idea to look at this from another angle: realistically, you probably are not going to update all 4 tables at a time. If it's so, then you just need in simpler view which will cover just updatable part of query (1 or 2 tables) and view designer will be sufficient here. Any non-directly-updatable parts can be pick up by interface means.
