We have an issue right now with the VFP Ole Db provider. Microsoft is working on it. So, there is still some work being done in that direction. It is true the additional layer required to access VFP data is one step that is not required for someone who would use .NET to access SQL Server with the SQL Client provider. But, there are some problems presently in the VFP Ole Db provider and if those would be fixed, at least, it would show a good sign of support.
