You can use VFP to do this:

Use the registry class to read the registry for the following:

Root: HKEY_CURRENT_USER

Node: "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders"

Key: "Desktop"

If you look in the node above you will see keys for all the special folders.
