This one reminded me the just finished presidential election in Brazil, where the massive scandals that had Mr. Lula's party members (PT) and his close "colaborators" involved resulted in... his reelection!

During the campaign Mr. Lula da Silva called those crimes (yes, they were CRIMES) "mistakes" made by some "morons" of his party (i.e. criminals).

So, in Brazil, If it IS explicitly unlawful, then it's a "mistake".
