Perry,

>It generally seems that in general technical discussions here, you seem to be 180 degrees opposite from the consensus. I'm so happy that someone so great and knowledgable as you allows me to type your name.

Maybe that is because I only step in when I'm 180 degrees opposite from the consensus here.
Appart from that. In the database world there is NO CONSENSUS on this one?IF the consensus you mean here is drawn by only a few guys up here how can you talk about a consensus. BTW, I'm not alone in this topic. It is John Ryan also who had written quite a lot (now and in the past) questioning the applicapability orf SPs. He did that a few years ago already. I merely joined it a few days ago. And if you read the other comments (Dragan?), you'll see that many guys who allow themselves to rationally think about these issues have a way more balanced view of the whole issie than the forestanders without any valid argument.

>But I'm done talking to you. It ain't worth it.

I'm offering you to learn something. If you don't take it,It is your choice. At least you can't accuse me for not giving arguments and explanations.

>Using the "apps I write" argument only supports my conclusion that your apps are for the most part poorly designed and any other programmer would have a very difficult time trying to debug your code.

Hmmm, I though that argument was just used by kevin, because he used that argument a lot. I'm more of a theorists with practical knowledge as well. I try to give technical reasons and arguments for making the point.

Your argument about sitting next to a good DBA, is one that really does not hold technical merit. I countered with that I have at least an as good source (DBA) to make the same valueless argument.

If you can't come up with the technical arguments how can anyone say you're right or wrong. It is like believing in god because the pope says so.

Walter,
