They profiled a good guy from AZ on 60 minutes last week, who is trying to get rid of earmarks. He has both dem and repubs shouting him down.

Hopefully, with a bunch of freshman coming in, others will join his fight.

>>>One of the problems with these politicians is they get to Washington and get assimilated. They are all the same person. Fingers in the wind, one and all.

>>I wouldn't go quite that far but there is certainly an element of truth to it. IMO there are some capable, conscientious politicians in Washington, on both sides of the aisle. Just not enough of them. The ones I can't stand -- and again I think they are on both sides -- are the ones who seem to believe their purpose in Washington is to defeat the other party, rather than do what is best for the citizens they supposedly represent. Sure, there are honest differences of opinion about what our priorities and tactics should be. But too often it's more like the star-bellied Sneetches and the Sneetches without.

>Well, you may have a point. I'm trying hard to think of one that shouldn't be drawn and quartered. I'll have to get back to you later . . . . <g>
