>>>Ok, thanks Tamar. I did miss that. Historically, was that a first? (I can't remember that from my Civics days - as far as Judicial Branch being included in the mix)

>>>Still I'm not sure that's entirely accurate. While only 2 of the justices were appointed by Democrat Presidents, it is generally held that Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, and Alito are conservative; Stevens, Souter, Ginsburg, and Breyer are liberal; and Kennedy is considered a moderate. That is really a pretty balanced group.

>>But look at the court system as a whole. I'm not going to the time to find the stats (billable work to be done), but IIRC, a rather significant proportion of federal judges now were appointed by one Bush or the other.

>I think it might be more accurate to say the Republicans were "out of control" for the past 6 years. One side of their head said they were for lower govt. spending while the other side said yea on every spending bill. Now, they are paying the piper.
I think that we are all paying the piper, and will continue to do so for many years! I think that we should have a direct deposit account from our employers to the government. Whatever the government does not use they will give to us! I would expect to get an IOU from the government! Sorry, we spent all your money, need more and cannot pay you at this time! :)
