Dep't. of minor annoyances: when exactly was the Democratic Party renamed the Democrat Party? You hear it everywhere now. I'm not sure if he's the one who started it but I suspect this is another of Dubya's gifts to the language, like "nucular."

>Ok, thanks Tamar. I did miss that. Historically, was that a first? (I can't remember that from my Civics days - as far as Judicial Branch being included in the mix)
>
>Still I'm not sure that's entirely accurate. While only 2 of the justices were appointed by Democrat Presidents, it is generally held that Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, and Alito are conservative; Stevens, Souter, Ginsburg, and Breyer are liberal; and Kennedy is considered a moderate. That is really a pretty balanced group.

>>>I see your point. I did miss Kevin's 6-year reference. So he understated the extent to which the D's were out of the majority in Congress.

>>>>He stated 6 years - I stated 12 years. Your breakdown is according to the website's listing by party control during terms, which is not how he stated it in his message, correct? He did write 6 years did he not?

>>You're all missing Kevin's point. The sentence included the White House. He was pointing out that for 6 years, the R's were in control across the board.
