Not really. It's a paid national holiday for government workers (not sure about banks). When I lived in Edmonton, it was a holiday in Alberta - don't know if it still is, but on Nov. 11th, I'll be off only because it's a weekend. If it were a weekday, I'd be at work along with all the other non government staff. Government workers will have Monday off since the 11th is on a weekend.
