You are correct, I was not irritated at all. Just pointing out the obvious for lurkers :o)
It looks like our experience in the military was more similar than I thought! I took Russian as well (before the military) and was actually at DLI for a language course in Russian (they selected me because I already had the Russian language identifier in my records) about 6 months before Just Cause. My entire class was switched to Spanish (quite a surprise and a dissapointment to those who were learning the Russian language for the first time as you can imagine). Just another example that those little 'surprises' which pop up periodically around the world are never
completely a surprise afterall. Everyone of us went to Panama except one, who for some unknown, but very fortunate, reason got Shape. He moaned and groaned and I was of course offering to switch with him. It wasn't going to be my first skirmish but I hoped it would be the last. Funny, for all his moaning he didn't want to trade assignments. :o) It was in Panama that I learned that my records at DA had me down as a male. Lucky me! :o) Panama is one of the most beautiful places on earth. I ended up spending a year there and loved 75% of it.

>>I don't know if you know this but Tracy is a vet. And she didn't spend her time there darning the men's socks. Hence her irritation, which I thought she understated. PC has nothing to do with it.
