Has anybody seen this problem?

We have a form that uses 1 dbf. The dbf is marked as read-only, either on the hard drive or a CD-Rom drive. The form has a private datasession.

We can run the form once, but when we try to run the form again on the same PC, we get the following error:

Error loading file - Parent - record number ?. Error loading the data environment. Table is in use.

This ONLY happens on NT4 PCs. This will work on Win3.1 or Win95.

The reason we get an error is because the dbf is marked as read-only. If we take the read-only attribute off, the form can be opened more than once.

However, our application reads dbfs off a CD-Rom. This is where the problem originally occured. We can't remove a read-only attribute from a CD-Rom.

The only solution we have come up with is to copy the files to the NT4 hard drive and remove the read-only attribute. Then our application works.

Again, under Win95 or Win3.1, the application works all the time even reading the files off of CD-Rom.

Does anyone have any other solution?

Thanks,

Jerryt
