>About 30 years ago I was trying to find a good Mexican restaurant in the San Francisco Bay Area. There were three advertising on the radio, so I tried each one. I got food poisoning at each one.

That really sucks when you get sick eating the food you love. Sorta spoils it. I couldn't eat black forest cake for the longest time.

Up here, we have more chain tex-mex restaurants, which are fine. Since there are few Mexicans, the true Mexican restaurants tend to be more upscale. I lived in the central-american (formerly Italian) section of Vancouver for years and there was a very good Mexican restaurant there. It specialized in food from the Yucatan. Very popular and very small... so to beat the crowd we would end up eating dinner at 4:30pm sometimes.
