That reminds me of winters in Wisconsin when I was young. My mom would make hot cocoa using cocoa and sugar and milk. If she felt like spoiling us she would use cream. Boy was that good :o) My daughter gets the instant packages and doesn't have a clue what hot cocoa should taste like :o) On really really cold days I will make it from scratch but she has actually grown accustomed to the yucky instant stuff...

>>Best hot chocolate I've ever had out was in Venice. Really thick. Also in Bath The fine cheese company makes pretty good chocolate. I've never been to the US so I can't say what their hot chocolate is like.

>Never order hot chocolate in the United States! Especially if it is from a vending machine. The chances are you will receive a cup of hot water to which brown saw dust has been added!

>Most restaurants serve hot chocolate no better than the vending machines. Good hot chocolate is made with products from such countries as Holland or Germany, to which you add milk (not skim milk). Some sugar may have to be added to the Dutch the chocolate, as it is a bit bitter to the taste.
