For me it was the whole 'industrial farm' thing. I don't like the idea of all the antibiotics and hormones used in that process. Here in MT it is pretty easy to get locally raised, grass fed, organic beef. Even so, it is only about once a year that I indulge in beef. I should have qualified 'meat' to indicate 'red meat'. We do eat fish, usually wild salmon.
