>>That explains your excellent English. How long did you live here? I know a Brazilain near where I live who loves our temperate clime for its varying day length, with the long, long days of mid-summer, twilight instead of sun down - BAM - pitch dark.

>Well, I consider my English so, so ... it used to be a lot better when I was there, of course. I used to practice the accent a lot. Once I was trying to pronouce the "i" correctly, as in "did". We brazilians tend to say it as in "deed". My landlady tried to show me the correct way to say it, using the word "knickers". We were in a restaurant, and there I was repeting "knickers", "knickers", outloud. huahuahuahuahuahua ... she was terrible, once I noticed everybody around was laughing at me.

>I will always keep extremely good memories from my staying in England. I still have good friends I made there, we are like family, always in touch. Hopefuly I will be able to pay them a visit again soon. I used to do it almost every year after I left. I will give custard a try then.

>Well, long story huh?

Very heart-warming. :-)

The French have a version of custard, quite pale and vanillary, which they, I think quite cheekily, call "Creme Anglaise". It's what you get in certain confectionaries. It's not exacltly the same as good old yellow British custard. In France, when you get, say, "tarte aux pommes" (their version of apple pie), you're expected to eat it as-is, maybe with some cream. I find that too dry to chomp through without an accompanying liquid.

Hey, here's something for you to repeat quickly, to practice your pronunciation of "i":

"Polish it behind the door"
- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
