I've heard of (and seen on docus) certin African tribes doing this (Masai?) but not bedouins. They fire an arrow into the achiles area of the hind leg, from close up, then pop a bucket underneath to catch the blood. After a few seconds they remove the arrow and staunch the flow with some herbs. How about those Mongolians though? They mixed their yaks' blood with their milk.
