Having a table already opened by another computer slows some commands down (and sometimes different amounts of time depending on OS used on client and server). Also there are some ways of coding/deployment practices which might make your code slower in multiuser mode (exe/view dbc on the server for instance). Sometimes even the choice of network protocol/network topology might make a difference.
