Sorry, I wasn't being clear. Our coverage is the same it is for immediate family one. But say John Smith is a Canadian citizen, he may have a relative Bill Smith that is a citizen from another country. Bill comes to Canada and presents John's medical card and pretends to be him to get the free or cheap medical procedure.

If I wasn't married...LOL. Don't slap me!

>Here medical insurance only covers immediate family members (typically). Your medical insurance covers relatives not residents or citizens of Canada? Can I become your relative please?

>>>It just dawned on me that in a country with universal health insurance, there are probably not any cases of people getting married for medical care!
>>
>>Up here there are other benefits like dental coverage and extended medical (drugs, massages etc..) that are very lucrative that I could see doing this form.
>>
>>One scam is for foreign relatives of a Canadian citizen to claim to be that person so that they can get an expensive or long term procedure for free.
