No, they are not the same but the civil rights movement and the gay rights movement have many things in common and inter-racial marriage and gay marriage have much in common. Many of the arguements against one can be applied to the other. This arcticle based on the idea that God intended marriage to be between a man and a woman, those opposed to inter-racial marriage claim God intended for marriage to be between a man and a woman of the same race. Some think race doesn't matter but it is religion that is the key. Christians should only marry of christians.
The arguements against are the same and they are all fairly weak ones at that.
