Exegesis is a right term that we can use for that one.. Human principles never changes.. Was the same at Caesar's time.. And, they are the same today.. Some laws was changed, but all principles remain intact..

At bible we read that woman must use veil at church services.. That law was changed, but the principle remain the same.. The respect!! This is exegesis.. The cultural adaptation for each time/culture.. So, today principles are the same of Old Roman times.. Same of Josua, etc..
