>i'm showing this in a editable grid and i have to show a clean grid at the begining, any ideeas beside using select and a class for the grid so i wouldn't worry about adding all those objesct inside the grid everytime i have to filter the table? any? just one?:)

If you need to show records that fulfill a certain condition (and initially you don't have any such records), you can use a parameterized local view.

The typical case is that you have a parent-child relation between two tables. In a grid for the child table, you only want to show records that correspond to the selected record in the parent table. If you have just created a parent record, you don't yet have any records in the child table.
