It's essential that you always tell us which version of VFP you use, because every new version has new features. If you use VFP9, as you should, you have a new options, yourgrid.optimize=.T. && .F. is default...! But anyway, you should ALWAYS narrow the number of records you want to show in a grid. And, by the way, why do you "SET FILTER TO .F." in stead of "SET FILTER TO" ?
