We all have something in common, we develop VFP apps. I am not objective enough (or creative enough) to use my application the way end-users would. So I let a few selected users try it out before wide release. Would you trust MS to be objective enough to put out something in their Help similar to Hacker's Guide? I agree with you though that they should at least include a thorough explanation of what each command or function does. In fact, this could be accomplished fairly easily. Someone at MS develops each one. At that time, whoever is working on that command or function should be required to take 2 to 3 minutes to write up the purpose and functionality of it. When it comes time to compile (Literally) the help, most of the work is already done.

>What it leads me to ask, though, is why can't MS do that for us right in VFP's Help??? - especially since the Hacker's Guide provides a primary example!
