Mike,
I already used codereferences when I looked for the source of my trouble. And I found practically nothing. The names 'Mybase' of a classlib here and a class there don't seem to interfere. So I turned to the Ansi issue which semms to be the real glitch. I assume that the VFP developers will fix that in the next version. I still have ti find out how often and when that My. object calls this method where ansi off is required and if there is an (external) workaround without without patching the downloaded classlib.

Principally you are right, but who lives by principles all the way?
Eugen
