>Did you test if the position of the mouse pointer affects whether the dropdown list closes when you type a character?

Yes. That's what you asked for. :)

> In VFP6 (SP5) the dropdown list closes ***if*** the mouse pointer is positioned anywhere ***within*** the dropdown list.

Not in vfp9

> Move the mouse outside of that area and the list remains open as you type, with incremental searching working as expected (ie the highlighted row in the list changes to match what has been typed/searched).

Same in 9.

>It's interesting that in VFP9 you find that the highlight does not change to reflect the current incremental search value.

>I have my combobox set to Style = 0-Dropdown Combo. How about you?

Yep!

>Thanks for taking the time to test this control. I will update if they really have fixed this. Then again, if they broke it by not moving the highlight bar :)

You're welcome.

OOP is all about flexibility. If the control is broken, you can fix it - for now, and preferably with version specific code. Since NOTHING is perfect, you may want to get used to fixing it. :)
