Hi Mike,
I must admit I don't often use combos/dropdown lists but have used them occasionally in all versions of FoxPro and VFP since 2.0 and have never seen/noticed the behaviour you are describing. I created a simple form with a native VFP combo and have tried to duplicate your problem in VFP 9 SP1 without success. Can you duplicate the problem on a basic form and then export the code and paste it here so I and others can try it out? To export your code you can use the Class Browser and the View Code option.
>Good point - I am sure I will update soon. But I see lots of commercial appls that are written in VFP6 (or 5), so assumed that these earlier versions were tried and true. In the mean time, if anyone else (in addiotn to Mike Yearwood) could confirm whether Dropdown List comboboxes have been fixed in VFP 9, I would be very grateful! He came up with a very simple test using Values instead of Fields or Alias...

>>no offence intended, but if you are a newbie to VFP, and since so many features have been added, and so many bugs have been fixed, why don't you upgrade NOW? It's a big chance that you are actually spending a lot of time on something which has been fixed or changed in newser versions. If time is money, you lose money every hour you don't upgrade. Intellisense itself is enough reason to upgrade.
