Do not close the report form using the X in the upper right hand corner. Use the file menu close or exit. If you have a form and a report open and you close the form first, it will also create the same error or the dreaded 0000005 error. Once I adhered to the rules of never closing the report by clicking on the X and closing all forms before opening up a report, the report writer was usable. Hopefully SP2 fixed this.

>I just switched to VFP9 SP1. When I am working in the Report Designer with an existing report and I attempt to save, I get the message "File is not open". I cannot close the report designer or get out of the situation except by ending task (which sometimes causes corruption).
