I must say I read these "Vista experience" posts diligently. However, I cannot see any compelling reason to get it. There were real reasons for previous versions of Windows - stability, security, speed. But Vista for the average user?

My problem with these upgrades is the time and effort required to install, learn, fiddle with them, mess about trying to get all the other things that were working so nicely before to work again, hardware upgrades to run the eye candy, etc. I couldn't be bothered until at least SP1 and perhaps not even then.

This leaves the issue of does our software work on Vista. Well, I guess we'll find that out soon enough :) And if it does, great. And if it doesn't well either there will be a fix or there won't be :/

Getting old...

>I've found that Vista installs 2 to 4 times faster on a given machine than XP did. Unlike XP they ask most of the questions at the start, so that you can just walk away and let the install happen. Here are the questions, these may vary depending on your hardware and configuration.
