I think it should still work, since the code says to open Internet Explorer, NOT to open the default browser.

In any case, I recommend that you get copies of FireFox and Opera (the second- and third-most popular browsers), to do some tests.

Both of these browsers are free, and it is fairly easy to setup FireFox as the default browser, and then go back to Internet Explorer.
