SQL server cannot fix external malfunctions

Precisely. And converting to SQL server cannot fix them either.

Stability is a system/application behavior,
it is determined by the abilities of the developer,
data loss is a reliability behavior,
it is determined by the abilities of the designer.

If you say so. Others may consider that SQL Server's stability is independent of a developer's ability and that data loss may involve more than a designer's ability as well. Whatever.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
