Hi Tery,

I've found this behaviour a couple of times. I'm not entirely sure when this did happen. If I remember correctly it did happen when the form uses grids with certain number columns with code in it, and you at some point change the number of columns in the clas definition of that grid. It probably could occur in other cases where the form previously was build on a certain definition and you chance the definition at some point.

When editing the form, VFP sees that the form contains code to objects that are not there anymore and is unable to save it.

In these cases, when you do have a backup of the form and try again, it would show you the same problem again and again.

Again, I'm not sure this particular error message shows up under this circumstance, but I certainly would investigate whether this is the case.

Walter,

>Synopsis: Editing a form, of my form base class, quite a few method windows open (less than 8), click on save -> "File is not open" message comes up. So I try close form ->Do you wanna save? -> foolishly I say "Y". VFP gets SERIOUSLY hung up, showing 2 app's in Program Manager, taking ages to get its knickers untwisted.

>Start VFP again, look at my form and voila! gobbledygook all over my code - every method.

>So I decide to have another page on my main form, instead of this modal invoker, I copy all the fields from the baseclass form onto this form, do a few saves as I go on, then, at one point I click on save and "File is not open". SO I close the form - this time not being so stupid as to say "Y" to save

>Anyone any idea what could be the common factor in this, why it should happed, etc.?
