A few years ago I had a holiday in Ontario, in August. If I'd wanted to, there were but 2-3 days where I could have sunbathed. And that's been true of every time I've visited, and the US, hot and sultry and grey.

Believe it or not, the whole of July was one big sun-fest here - hardly a cloud in the sky, and September-October. I went camping in Brittany in August, so enboldened by the weather that I forgot to take a rain-proof coat - had to put up the tent in a storm.

I repeat, when was the last time you visited London? Summer is not the best time - so hot and airless. In fact, the highest national temps are always over London in the Summer.
