Mmmm... not necessarily. Blues has enough primal energy that its feel can be caught by a lot of people. The scheme is so catchy, that I've seen guys who never knew each other play blues together within minutes, improvise wildly and still make really good music. I've also heard a lot of good blues played by quite unexpected people - Scandinavians, Bosnians, even Russians (IMO, among the top 100 blues songs ever is "Ural biker blues" by Chizh). OTOH, I'd make it a law that blues writers should never ever wake up before noon, so we'd somehow be spared yet another song which begins with "I woke up this morning".
