For example, bit 0 set being read, bit 1 write, etc. It obviously doesn't work like that. Further more, since the values have remained the same since the DOS days, it's unlikely that you can find any direct relationship between these parameters and the flags that are used by the Win32 function CreateFile() (which this probably maps to). So, in short, it looks like pretty much of a "test and guess" situation.
