>I can recall using CTRL+S to save files (or work) beginning with WordPerfect 5.0, and it seems that Microsoft began using that combination sometime after that for the same purpose. For all the years I have used CTRL+S to Save, I have never had a problem.

The problem only occurs when having SET STATUS ON (as opposed to SET STATUS BAR ON, which is the default), and having init code in the form.

I was using set status bar on, to have the activeX statusbar on the bottom of the VFP mainform. The SET STATUS ON allowed me to place the VFP messages (menus, objects, etc) to appear on the activex statusbar. I used an always on bottom form to hide the messages on the bottom of the screen as a result of SET STATUS ON.

Essentially I no longer have the problem because I'm now using a new statusbar from an argentina developer (Carlos ?, sorry I forgot the surname), which is far superiour to my solution.

It does not take away that the bug is still there, but not many people would experience the problem unless they are using SET STATUS ON
