Most of Conrad's stories are. Think of "Heart of Darkness" for instance.

You aught to see Terry Gilliam's "Time Bandits" then.

Oh, and another cracker of his, as "12 Monkeys", the 80s' film "Brazil",set in an Orwellian alternative techologically-developed world (e.g. where computer screens are huge lenses with the image back-projected onto them).
