The cutest one that I ever heard was from Doug Hennig - he was using our DeclareLocals program from chapter 1 of the book in his session on extending VFP with VFP. This function is a replacement for the old Cobb Editor Extensions ALT+6 to insert a LOCAL declaration for the variable under the mouse. In the session, he tells the attendees that this one function was worth the entire price of the book, so they get the other 1001 things for free < g >.
