I've noticed that there are a lot fewer lorry tyre shreds on the motorways than there used to be.
Like you say, they're usually only lorry tyres, as car tyre blow-outs are usually accompanied by the car!
That's the reason why I had both my rear tyres changed this time (well had them rotated with the front, which were new just last year for the roadworthiness test).
