Quick response - thank you. I still must be missing something though. I changed the column name to be less than 10 characters - even the field itself is a c(10) now and I get a different error message: Invalid operation for the cursor.

>AFAIK the problem was discussed here and you can not alter cursor to add a field with more than 10 chars.
