You have to work out the pros and cons of VFP vs .NET. I would invest in Visual Studio 2005, and StrataFrame then create a mini project to see how it goes. Learning a framework takes time but you will reduce your development effort dramatically over “rolling your own” or using the base classes of the .NET framework.

Compatibility of VFP with future operating systems, conflicts with other software and other issues could impact the use of VFP over the long haul.
